THERAPY
Sometimes we experience overwhelm, feel unsure of ourselves or feel stuck or lost in life.
Whether you are facing immediate challenges or are looking for a deeper self-understanding you don’t have to do it alone.
I offer therapy in a safe, warm, gentle, creative and nature based environment, working both inside and outside in the natural world. I am offering you support and opportunities to discover and reconnect with your own rhythm and your own inner resources. I believe you are not broken, you have just forgotten how to connect with your self.
In therapy we will make room for all of you and explore how your experiences makes sense in the wider context of your life. Together we will explore the challenges you face, your longings and your experiences with curiosity and compassion. Always working within your window of tolerance and capacity we will gently find ways to move towards a more fulfilling life.
Sometimes we become used to settling for less and It does not have to be like that. Through restoring a connection to ourselves, each other and the-more-than-human-world, I believe that is possible to make more sense of the world and to find experiences of joy and beauty.
Gestalt Psycho Therapy
The Gestalt approach is wholistic, relational, experiental and field-orientated. This means taking into account the whole person, the body and the environmental context, as inseparable in the therapeutic process. Gestalt Therapy is growth oriented, assisting us in our development of self-awareness. It invites us to explore both our immediate experience in the here and now, as well as the environment around us.
This means paying attention to both inner experiences as well as the context of our situation, like family, culture, community and the-other-than-human-world. Gestalt therapy invites curiosity and through gentle noticing how we experience and respond in the world we can uncover patterns of relating that might have supported us in the past but no longer serve us well.
The experimental approach allows us to try out something different and discover new options for living a fulfilling and meaningful life.
In recognising the interconnection of all things I have a wholistic approach to therapy based in Gestalt therapy and Eco therapies. A session can either be inside in the comfort of my studio space or outside where we let natural world take part in our explorations together.
Eco therapies
I feel passionately about the potential of letting the natural world invite an aliveness of all the senses, about inviting an opportunity to feel the support of the natural world both physically and emotionally. Eco therapy encourages people to re-connect with the natural world as such bonds can restore a sense of belonging and wellbeing, as well as foster a deeper understanding of oneself and ones place in the world.
A little bit more about me.
I am a white Danish/Australian woman, living on Bundjalung country, Northern Rivers, NSW, Australia.
I am a mother, partner, aunty, friend, artist, communitymember, grower and maker.
I am a therapist, facilitator and lover of the Natural world.
I have worked as a Textile artist, tutor and workshop facilitator for more than thirty years.
I am passionate about a death and dying, works as volunteer and trainer with Amitayus Home Hospice service.
There are three main threads that weave together in the tapestry of my world.
One is my gestalt psychotherapy practice
One is my long-standing love of textiles and art-making
One is my love and concern for the natural world.
While Gestalt therapy is becoming the thread that binds it all together, my therapeutic work is also influenced and deepened by my creative practice and my relationship to the other-than-human world. Gestalt is how I tend to relationships with my self, my creativity, with others, and with the other-than human-world. It is a real joy and a privilege to experience another in a relational therapeutic situation

TESTIMONIALS
I enjoyed my gentle and nourishing sessions with Kirsten very much. There was plenty of space in our sessions for enquire, laughter and tears. I highly recommended these series of therapy for anyone who is tired of general psychology approach.
⎯ MAYA
I recently completed a series of Gestalt Therapy sessions with Kirsten, and each one was both powerful and profound. While we explored some uncomfortable and challenging territory, Kirsten’s steady guidance always brought me back to a grounded and positive place. I left every session feeling uplifted, energized, and eager to continue the journey.Kirsten held space with a gentle and supportive presence, walking alongside me through a deeply personal process of exploration. Her insight and attunement were remarkable, she consistently helped me become aware of my emotional landscape in ways that felt both timely and empowering. She was fully present, deeply connected to my process, and provided the clear, stable foundation I needed to feel safe throughout. Kirsten is a gentle, skilled, and energetically attuned therapist. I highly recommend working with her.
